Our Students Love Us

Here what people just like you have to say after learning from the Neo Kizomba method...

I met Charles by chance at a weekly Salsa social on the Thursday night before the Neo Kizomba weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina. He led me through my first Kizomba dance ever that night and from that moment, I was hooked! I came to the NeoKiz workshops organized by Kizomba RDU for the entire weekend. Saturday’s workshops gave me both a solid foundation in the basics necessary to truly begin dancing and enjoying Kizomba, and a rich ethno musicological background to understand the essence and origins of the dance. Sunday’s workshops with Charles were a delightful challenge while learning syncopated variations of basic steps, saidas, and pushes. After just one weekend of workshops, I’ve fallen in love with Kizomba and feel confident joining any Kizomba social. Aside from being a beautifully musical dancer, Charles is a patient and intuitive instructor. Thank you for an amazing weekend!”

I finished a series of 8 private lessons with Charles shortly before a 2 week trip to Europe for a Kizomba-vacation. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was a little bit nervous about whether I could hang since the scene in Spain and Portugal is more developed than in the U.S. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I felt I could hold my own on the social dance floor, festival workshops, and even an advanced Kizomba class at Afrolatin Connection in Porto!

I’ve learned from a lot of great instructors; but the reason I invested in training with Charles is that he teaches technique (not moves!) and worked hard to hone his teaching style to unlock as much of my dance potential as possible. What I learned with Charles about weight transfer, posture, balance, and above all CONNECTING WITH MY PARTNER, has given me the foundation I need to follow well, no matter what the style/ background of the person I’m dancing with.

Charles,

You have truly inspired me this weekend at the Charlotte Salsa & Bachata Festival! I didn’t think I was going to take a Kizomba class because I always found it intimidating. When I entered your class I felt welcomed and you made it easy and fun to follow. Because of your class I want to keep learning and get better at Kizomba!! You are truly a master at your craft and I hope to take more classes from you in the future!! Can’t wait to see Kizomba grow In my town of Augusta, GA and all over the US! I wish you the best and much success you are amazing!!
