Intellectual Dancer's Newsletter #007
Current state of mind:
Thoughts on teaching in Orlando:
I traveled to teach for the first time post COVID since February 2020 when I traveled to teach at a dance festival in Hawaii. We know Florida has been in the news a lot during the pandemic for not setting the best example of COVID precautions as a state.
I felt more at ease traveling to teach since I’m fully vaccinated and also the CDC has given the green light for vaccinated individuals to not wear masks indoors.
In short, I had a fucking blast to teach and interact with live students and witness aha and lightbulb moments in real time! It was good to be "back in the saddle" granted I don’t have any more bookings for the rest of the year because events are still opening back up.
This thought brings me into the question of, how much do I want to dedicate myself to traveling to teach again. Over the course of the past year, I definitely feel my body overall happier getting consistent nights of sleep. I ask myself how sustainable it is financially, emotionally, and physically to travel around the world every weekend. If you haven’t joined my Dancepreneur University email list, you should if you’re curious to delve deeper into that world.
My friend Dennis sent me a really cool video from Adobe showing how AI was able to get this dad to time remap a video to get him to dance on beat. The future is going to be so awesome, how could this technology be used to teach musicality?
Day by day I’m definitely becoming more curious as to what the dance world will look like post COVID with vaccinations ramping up.

Question of the week:
What kind of person would you be if you got all of your touch needs met?
If this question sparks some curiosity within you, check out a blog I wrote a while back on the topic.
